Custom Inflatable Kayak from Dreamer Inflatables Kayak factory
As an kayaks lovers for many years, from larger sit-on (sea kayaks ) in the ocean and surface to the smaller sit-in types in lakes and rivers. The 1st thing to understand is that inflatable kayak behave differently from rigid kayaks. Rigid typically have ribbing on the bottom of the hull, so a fixed rudder isn’t necessary. The inflatable kayaks also don’t have quite the same “glide” and you cannot steer very well by leaning since again,
Dreamer inflatable kayak factory
Dreamer Inflatables make kayak by using heavy PVC and has 3 main inflation compartments with Boston valves. The side valves are there add valves while the center valve is just friction. We have preferred all 3 to be threaded, though it wasn’t too hard to secure and I did not observe any leaking. There are an additional 6 sections to inflate, each end cover and then the seat and back for each of the 2 seats. While the end covers have typical internal valve nozzles, the seats actually have a rather cool 2 piece mini boston type valve, where you can quickly deflate the seats. Very nice touch. Once the main part of the kayak is inflated, it’s only a minute to put on the end caps, portage straps and seats.

The inflation pump worked well for the kayak, though with the adapter nozzle for the seats and end covers, it was actually faster to use our mouth. I use an AC air mattress inflater with a DC inverter so I can inflate from the car. This is a much faster way to go, less time inflating and more time kayaking.
The kayak seats structure
The seats have velcro on the bottom and side straps to provide back support. Overall, very comfortable and easy to adjust.
Paddles are very nice and they float, the portage straps go on the bottom of the kayak. it would have been much better to put these on the top. The velcro did in fact hold the portage straps on securely, though I worry that they won’t do much if a gust of wind catches the kayak. I will likely use a looped like and make a handle on the top which more secure.
